In a thrilling face-off for the prestigious 2023 CAF African Player of the Year award, Ghana’s Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus emerge as top contenders. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled the 30-man shortlist, with both midfield maestros earning well-deserved recognition for their outstanding performances between November 2022 and September 2023, both for their clubs and the national team.

Partey, the Arsenal powerhouse, was a linchpin in the Gunners’ journey to a second-place finish in the Premier League and a return to the UEFA Champions League. Meanwhile, Kudus, with his incredible goal-scoring record at Ajax and a high-profile transfer to West Ham United, has become a pivotal figure for his new club.

The ceremony is set for Monday, December 11, 2023, in Marrakesh, Morocco, and the suspense is building as fans wonder who will follow in the footsteps of Sadio Mane and Asisat Oshoala, who took home the top honors in the previous edition.
