Ghanaian entrepreneur develops an innovative event platform

Stephen Ameyaw, one of Ghana’s youngest and creative IT entrepreneurs has developed a platform that simplifies the management and administration of events from initiation to completion. Named “AkwaabaPass”, the platform is the go-to event technology supplier for many of Ghana’s leading exhibition, conference and event organizers and provides users with functions such as an event registration platform, an intuitive visitor app, smart badging or verification amongst others.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Ameyaw said his decision to introduce AkwaabaPass as one of his company’s offerings was because, Ghana’s events industry whether entertainment or corporate has the potential to develop into a multimillion industry if managed and planned properly with technology as the backbone. There have been instances where event tickets are over sold disappointing patrons and sometimes leaving the event grounds out of frustration. According to the CEO, his platform enables organizers to manage seats and ticket sales electronically. In addition, it provides the organizer with customer insights and analytics at the click of a button. He stated “Ghana’s tourism industry is projected to boost with initiatives such as the year of return etc. and it is therefore important that we grow along with this projection. Our platform provides on-the-go updates and information on all events as such event goers can have the concept of an event, date and time, location, purchase tickets electronically, reminders and alerts and other features that simplifies the selection, budgeting and attendance of events. Isn’t it spectacular that you can sit in the comfort of your home and know where to go, what it is about, make payment, get alerts on dates and budgets and have live location support to the event at no cost?” he quizzed.  He also stated that once registered, an organizer can take advantage of the advertisement features on the platform to promote an event which can be linked to social media and other strategic partners all at no cost to the organizer.

The platform also provides other unique advantages such as real time visibility of leads collected, distribution of content digitally and a seamless verification of tickets at the event grounds with the use of a self- service verification kiosk or the event organizer mobile app.

Stephen Ameyaw is the Managing Director of ShrinQ Limited; an Information Technology Company specialized in the delivery of software and technology solutions to varied companies from diverse industries. The company owns flagship products such as the AkwaabaPass and the Genova Insurance Suite. Prior to co-founding ShrinQ in 2016, Stephen worked in senior positions at Wapic Insurance Ghana Limited, Vodafone and the now defunct UT Bank.
