Ghanaians do not respect ambulances – Omari Wadie

The third National Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Omari Wadie has said that Ghanaians should stop disregarding ambulances on our roads.

Speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben he said, “The disregard Ghanaians have for ambulances is bad. Sometimes, drivers ignore ambulances with their sirens on full blasts speeding on emergencies. This is risky as drivers risk the lives of patients being transported and theirs as well.”

He added that, this behavior is so sad and pathetic as the ambulances take a few seconds to pass by. The third National Vice Chairman of NPP pleaded with drivers to highly regard ambulances with their sirens on as the lives being carried in them also matter.

He further appealed to the government to start a campaign to educate drivers and other road users on what to do when they hear the sirens of an ambulance.

President Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP Government in the build-up to the 2016 general elections promised that each of the 275 constituencies in the country will be given an ambulance. So far, 96 out of the 275 ambulances are currently parked at the State House awaiting distribution.
