The Public Relations Officer for the Art and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana (ATWAG) Kwame Dadzie has expressed his disappointment over the unfair treatment directed at entertainment journalist in the country.
According the ATWAG scribe, the entertainment journalist and art writers do not command much respect they deserve and he finds it appalling during an interview with Happy FM’s Dr. Cann on Showbiz Xtra.
“Ghanaians do not respect to entertainment journalist and arts writers, ” he indicated.
“The way they give respect to other sectors is not the same as the entertainment sector which is bad. That is why we have decided to educate the people about the relevance of arts writers association of Ghana, and the impact it brings to the economy,” he asserted.
Dadzie added,”If someone is an art writer, actor, musician or a radio presenter the person is not stupid. That is why we are giving a lot of information and educating to the people about our work.”
He deduced, “We want people to be aware that, most of us are graduates, some of us hold masters degree and so on, so people have to treat us well, just like they give respect to political, sports and business journalist.”
