A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Eric Dansah Appiah has said that the report by the Center for Democratic Development (CDD) that ranked the President and his officials as the 6th most corrupt individuals in Ghana is as a result of the Government’s silence on the prosecution of corrupt officials.

He was speaking on a panel discussion on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Happy FM’s Kwame Afrifa Mensah when he said: “The NPP as a Government had promised to fight corruption and to some extent, there has been some success. However, the Government’s silence on the prosection of corrupt officials has caused people to perceive the Government to be corrupt”.

He added that Ghanaians should exercise patience as the Government is putting measures in place to bring the perpetrators to book.

“Serving justice takes time so we will urge all Ghanaians to be patient with us.The Government is not just focused on arresting corrupt people but also on bringing development to the country”, he added.

A survey conducted by the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD) showed that Ghanaians ranked the President and officials in office as the 6th most corrupt people in the country.
