The Director of Protocol of Miami International Airport, Desmond Alufohai, together with the Miami World Trade Center (the center for Trade Africa) Mrs. Kemi Arosanyin and some of the diaspora community in Miami has honoured Ambassador Nancy Q Sam with a symbolic token on 22 August 2025, at the Miami International Airport in recognition of her outstanding contributions to tourism and cultural exchange.
Ambassador Sam, who serves as Tourism Ambassador for Miami, Florida, is also the President of Women in Tourism Ghana and Vice President of the ECOWAS Tourism Private Sector Confederation.
She has been celebrated for her years of work in strengthening ties between Miami-Dade County and Ghana through tourism and cultural promotion.
During a brief presentation, officials from Miami International Airport lauded Ambassador Sam’s commitment and impact.
“On behalf of the Protocol Office of Miami International Airport and the African community in South Florida, we want to give this unique token of appreciation.
“It is symbolic because we know that Madame Nancy is in tourism and also the linkage between Miami-Dade County and Ghana. For years we have appreciated the work that she has done, so this is just a small token of appreciation to say thank you, to say medase,” the officials stated.
The airport presented her with a custom-made model of a Boeing aircraft, specially inscribed with Miami International Airport.
The unique gift was described as a lasting reminder of the airport’s gratitude and its close relationship with Ambassador Sam.
Expressing her appreciation, Ambassador Sam shared her excitement, “I was honored yesterday by the Miami International Airport. They gave me a model of a Boeing plane with a special inscription on it, which is very unique. It’s a custom-made plane that they gave to me and I’m truly grateful.”
