Female high jumper, Amoanimaa Rose Yeboah, who grabbed Ghana’s first gold medal at the just ended African Games in Rabat, Morocco, with a jump of 1.84m has said her vision is to lift the flag of Ghana higher than she has done.

Speaking on Anopa Bosuo Sports with Ohene Brenya Bampoe, the high jumper made a plea for the needed equipment to aid her in training.
“I am pleading with Ghanaians and the authorities to support me to continue lifting the flag of Ghana high because I want to be a world champion,” she said.

“I need the machine for stretching, food, my diet and other equipment that will help me become a world champion. I had an injury before going to Morocco but because I don’t have the equipment to train with so I had to go to the competition with the injury,” she revealed.

Her medal was Ghana’s first gold medal at the Rabat Games, having won two gold at the 2015 African Games in Brazzaville, Congo.

The athletics team gave Ghana some medals during the games.

The men’s 4×100 relay team won gold, Deborah Acquah picked up a silver medal in the women’s long jump and Grace Obour won bronze in the women’s 400m.
