The incident affected a domestic property, completely destroying one bedroom and its contents.

Another bedroom and the hall were partially damaged. An unspecified amount of money was also partially burnt in the fire. However, firefighters managed to salvage three adjoining rooms, preventing further destruction.

One casualty, identified as 53-year-old Pastor Matthew, sustained injuries and was attended to at the scene before being transported to the Ablekuma North Polyclinic for medical treatment.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
