The Omanhene of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council, Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea II, has called on the people of Gomoa to shift their focus from chieftaincy disputes to agriculture, stressing that farming is key to the development of their community and Ghana at large.

He highlighted the government’s readiness to support Akans willing to venture into agriculture and emphasized that hard work in the sector could significantly boost growth in the region.

Reflecting on Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s era, he recalled the impact of state farms and advocated for their revival to strengthen food security and economic stability.

His remarks came during the launch of the Ahobakese festival at Gomoa Mampong in the Gomoa West district.

Additionally, the Odikro of Gomoa Mampong, Nana Obo Mensah IX, encouraged the youth to embrace farming as a means of prosperity and to steer clear of criminal activities, reinforcing the importance of agriculture in securing a better future for the community.

This renewed call for agricultural engagement aligns with nationwide efforts to enhance food production and foster sustainable development.
