The Minister for Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah has congratulated the Black Stars for their emphatic win over Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday that booked the Black Stars a place in the last 16 of the 2019 AFCON tournament.

The Black Stars secured qualification to the round of 16 stages in the ongoing AFCON after defeating Guinea Bissau 2:0 at the Suez Stadium with goals from Jordan Ayew and Thomas Teye Partey.

The sector Minister, who was optimistic Ghana will Guinea-Bissau to book qualification to the knockout stage, has heaped kind words on the technical handlers as well as the playing body for the sounding victory.

“On behalf of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the good people of Ghana, I would like to congratulate the Black Stars for an emphatic win against Guinea-Bissau to top the pile and qualify for the knockout stages,” the minister said in a release.

Ghana will engage North African giants Tunisia in the round of 16 stages scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2019, at the Ismailia Stadium.
