Johnson Kwadwo Asiedu Nketiah,General Secretary of the biggest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration of engaging in victim blaming in the Menzgold brouhaha instead of dealing with the perpetrator Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1).

Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ political show Mr Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito said “what government is doing to the menzgold customers is called victim blaming. The customers have lost their investment and government is calling them greedy. This is what I call double punishment.”

To further explain his points, he used a rape case analogy where rape victims are blamed for bringing the rape upon themselves.

’’Government’s stance on the menzgold issue is like saying why did you wear a short skirt, or why did you go out in the night, you brought this upon yourself,’’ he added

On a lighter note, General mosquito wanted to know where the NPP got this ‘NAM’ (which literally means meat in twi) from and whether it is pork or beef to have been able to swindle the whole nation

However, many believe the involvement of some government officials for creating a deceptive environment for people to invest in the company.
