Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has announced a new upward adjustment in the producer price of cocoa, raising it to GHS3,625 per bag, equivalent to GHS58,000 per tonne.

The new price, which takes effect tomorrow, Friday, October 3, 2025, represents a GHS400 increase per bag, translating into a 12.27% rise over the price announced in August.

According to Dr. Forson, margins, fees, and rates to all other stakeholders, including the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), remain unchanged.

He further assured cocoa farmers that COCOBOD will continue to implement measures aimed at boosting production and improving farmer welfare.

These interventions include the intensified supply of free fertilizers (both liquid and granular), insecticides, spraying machines, fungicides, and flower inducers.

In addition, COCOBOD is set to roll out the much-anticipated Tertiary Education Scholarship Scheme for children of cocoa farmers in the 2026/27 academic year, a move expected to provide significant relief to farming households.
