GPL: Sulley Muntari’s debut for Hearts of Oak ends in defeat

Former Ghana international Sulley Ali Muntari debut for Hearts of Oak ended in defeat as the Phobians lost to their city rivals Great Olympics in the Accra derby on Sunday.

Yusif Abdul Razak goal in the first half ensured Great Olympics emerged winners of the game on matchday 16 of the Ghana Premier League.

Muntari who joined The Phobians this week came on as a substitute made an impression in his first game in the Rainbow jersey.

Olympics now have the bragging rights as landlords of Accra after this win.

Bechem United continue with their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over AshantiGold SC in this weekend’s round of fixtures in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

Augustine Okrah and Emmanuel Annor scored the two goals in both halves to secure the win for The Hunters as they moved up to the second spot on the league table.

Bechem United are currently unbeaten in eight games in the ongoing campaign.

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, King Faisal returned to winning ways after securing a 2-0 win over Real Tamale United.

The Insha Allah boys had gone four games without a win in the ongoing season.
David Oppong and Enock Morrsion scored the goals for King Faisal to see them earn their first three points after four defeats.

League leaders Asante Kotoko will be looking to extend their lead on top of the table when they face Elmina Sharks this afternoon at the Nduom Sports Stadium.
