GPLonHappyFM: Dwarfs, Liberty, Inter Allies relegated
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Ebusua Dwarfs, Liberty Professionals have joined Inter Allies as the three teams to be relegated from the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

Ebusua Dwarfs despite their 2-1 win at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium against Bechem United were unable to secure a place in next season’s league.

Dwarfs exited the competition due to Elmina Sharks better head-to-head record in the league.

Sharks managed to pick a win against Asante Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium in their final game of the season.

A win that saved the Elmina-based side in the top-flight for another season.
At the Sogakope WAFA park, Liberty Professionals were held by King Faisal to a goalless draw. The two sides were battling it out to avoid relegation.

The scientific soccer lads needed to beat King Faisal at home but the Insha Allah boys were very resilient in this encounter.

Liberty Professionals have been relegated for the first time since they joined the Ghana Premier League in the 2000’s.
Inter Allies were also dumped out of the Ghana Premier League with a heavy defeat in their final game of the season.

They lost to AshantiGold SC by 7-0 at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.

Meanwhile, the season finished with Hearts of Oak crowned champions winning Ghc 250,000 plus 40 gold medals.

Asante Kotoko finished in second place taking home Ghc 150,000 plus 40 silver medals whilst WAFA finished third place with Ghc 80,000 plus 40 bronze medals.

Hearts of Oak as winners of the league will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season.
