
Hearts of Oak new signing Gladson Awako scored on his debut to hand the defending champions their first win of the season against Elmina Sharks in the Ghana Premier League.
The game ended 1-0 at the Nduom Sports Stadium.
The Phobians needed to win the game to ease the pressure from the fans following a poor start to the season.
The former Great Olympics midfielder played a vital role after being introduced into the game to help Hearts of Oak break the deadlock following a stalemate in the first half.
The 30-year-old scored from 25 yards to hand Hearts of Oak the lead in the 72nd minute just eight minutes after being on the pitch.
Hearts of Oak held on to the lead to record their first win of the season which currently sees them move up from the bottom of the table to the 16th position with six points.
