The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has criticized some Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) for what she described as complacency and inefficiency that are stalling development efforts in the region.
Speaking at a media engagement in Accra on Thursday, August 28, 2025, Madam Ocloo expressed disappointment in the conduct of some local leaders, stressing that their failure to act decisively was undermining progress.
“Let me go straight to say that I am disappointed at the level of inefficiency and complacency exhibited by some of our chief executives. At this stage, excuses are nothing but an embarrassment to the people we serve,” she said.
She further cautioned that leadership should be measured by results, not by the privileges of office.
“Leadership is not about sitting in offices and enjoying the perks of your position. It is about delivering results, and right now, many of you are simply sleeping on the job,” Madam Ocloo added.
