The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has withdrawn its planned industrial action following a high-level meeting with the Minister of Health on May 30, 2025.
GRNMA in a statement , indicated the decision to rescind its strike action comes after discussions in which the Minister urged GRNMA leadership to reconsider its stance and allow the formation of a three-member committee to guide the implementation of the long-awaited Collective Agreement.
In response, GRNMA agreed to the committee’s formation but insisted that the Ministry of Finance must first approve the agreement before further steps are taken.
“Under the circumstance, Leadership is calling on all Nurses and Midwives to remain resolute and adhere to the Roadmap as issued”.
