The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), is set to launch a new initiative called “Feast Ghana” on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024.

This inaugural event aims to promote and showcase the rich culinary diversity of the nation.

The launch of Feast Ghana is part of the authority’s efforts to revive Ghana’s tourism and hospitality sector, which was adversely affected by the pandemic.

The event is being organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Asanteman Queenmothers Association, and the Public Service Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress (PSWU of TUC).

“Feast Ghana represents a unique opportunity to showcase the vibrant culinary richness of our nation and celebrate the unity and diversity that food embodies in our culture,” said Akwasi Agyeman, the CEO of GTA.

The launch event will also celebrate the second edition of the Ladies Club of GTA’s “Rep your Region” program, further highlighting the country’s cultural diversity.

Following the launch in Accra, Feast Ghana will travel to the Ashanti Region on April 22nd, in partnership with the Asanteman Queenmothers Association, to honour the 25th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s reign. This extension of the event underlines the region’s cultural significance and culinary contributions.

The grand celebration of Feast Ghana will be held on May Day at the Accra International Conference Center, in collaboration with the PSWU of TUC.

This final event promises to be a memorable showcase of Ghana’s local foods, emphasizing unity, diversity, and the vibrant spirit of the Ghanaian people.

The event aligns with GTA’s “See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana and Feel Ghana” campaign, which aims to promote the country’s tourism and cultural offerings.
