A recent poll by Global InfoAnalytics predicts Hajia Amina Adams, widow of the late Ayawaso East MP Mahama Naser Toure, to win the NDC Ayawaso East Primaries with 58% of voter preference.
This gives her a 26-point lead over her closest rival, Baba Jamal, who has 32% of the votes.
The poll, which suggests a two-horse race between Hajia Amina Adams and Baba Jamal, indicates broad grassroots support for Hajia Amina Adams.
Analysts attribute her strong showing to effective constituency engagement, sympathy votes, and growing confidence among party faithful in her ability to reclaim or retain the seat for the NDC.
The primary is scheduled for February 7, 2026, and the winner will contest the March 2026 by-election.
If current trends hold, the NDC is likely to retain the Ayawaso East seat.
The Ayawaso East constituency has been a stronghold for the NDC, and Hajia Amina Adams’ lead in the polls is seen as a significant boost for the party’s chances in the by-election.
