Ghana’s number one radio station, Happy FM held its first preliminary stage of this year’s edition of the Salah fest Inter- Zongo Cooking Competition on Saturday,1st June 2024 at Kasoa.

The Salah Food Fest is a cooking competition between Zongo communities across the country, aimed at celebrating Eid al-Adha by presenting the best cooks to showcase their cooking skills by preparing various authentic delicacies.

The First round of the preliminaries featured two teams from Tuba, Kasoa, Abeka, and Sabon zongos, competing to determine which team will represent their community in the final stage of the competition.

After an intense round of cooking between eight teams, four teams, Taste & See from Tuba Zongo, Masha Allah representing Abeka Zongo, Together from Sabon and Insha Allah rice representing Kasoa Zongo secured spots at the grand finale.

The emerging winners did not only qualify for the final round of the competition but also received products from key sponsors of the 2024 Salah fest Cooking Competition.

The event which is aimed at fostering love and unity within the zongos, witnessed a lineup of captivating activities which included a performance from Kasoa’s very own Original Shana .

Kwabena Ampong, Programmes Manager of Happy 98.9 FM, applauded the contestants for a remarkable exhibition of culinary skills and looks forward to seeing more great dishes from the subsequent stages of the competition.
“The brand is always excited to visit Zongo communities to experience and join them celebrate Eid al-Adha with this festive competition, though there was high level of competition, each group displayed a high level of impeccable culinary expertise ’’ he said.

The 2024 edition of Salah Food Fest is sponsored by Tasty Tom, Frytol, fortune rice, Nkulenu Chocho and Henos Energy.
