All is Set for Salahfood FEST 2025. Happy 98.9FM is set to host the grand finale of Ghana’s most anticipated culinary celebration, the Salah Food Fest 2025, as the event reaches its crescendo. The event, which has captured the hearts and taste buds of food enthusiasts across Zongo communities in Ghana, will culminate in an spectacular finale on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, at 9:00am at the forecourt of the Chief Imam’s residence in Fadama.

This year’s edition promises to be the most exciting yet, featuring eight competing Zongos: Fadama, Nima, Mamobi, Madina, Ashaiman, Kasoa, Tuba, and Sabon. These communities have been preparing their finest traditional dishes and cultural presentations, ready to showcase the rich diversity of Ghana’s northern heritage and Islamic culinary traditions.

“The Salah Food Fest has grown beyond our wildest expectations and has become a true celebration of unity, culture, and exceptional cuisine,” said Bridget Mensah, Head of PR, Marketing, Brands and Events for Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC). “What started as a simple food competition has evolved into a platform that brings communities together, celebrates our diverse cultural heritage, and showcases the incredible talent within our Zongo communities.”

The festival, organized by Happy 98.9FM, has received tremendous support from key industry partners who share the vision of celebrating Ghanaian culture and community spirit. This year’s Salah Food Fest is proudly sponsored by Tasty Tom Jollof Mix and Tasty Tom Spices, bringing authentic flavours to every dish. Wilmar Africa, producers of the popular Frytol Cooking Oil, continues their support alongside Fortune Margarine, ensuring that participants have access to quality cooking ingredients. Jibu Water rounds out the sponsor lineup, keeping everyone refreshed throughout the festivities.

“The level of creativity and passion we’ve witnessed from all participating Zongos has been absolutely remarkable,” Bridget Mensah continued. “Each community has brought their unique flavors, traditions, and stories to the competition, making this year’s festival truly unforgettable. The grand finale will be a celebration of everything that makes Ghana’s food culture so special.”

The event promises to be more than just a cooking competition. Attendees can expect performances, music, dance presentations, and an atmosphere filled with the warmth and hospitality that Ghanaian communities are known for. The forecourt of the Chief Imam’s residence provides the perfect setting for this cultural celebration, honouring the Islamic traditions that are central to the Salah festivities.

Beyond the competition, the Salah Food Fest serves as an important platform for promoting small-scale food vendors and entrepreneurs within the Zongo communities. Many participants have used the festival as a launching pad for their culinary businesses, with several previous contestants going on to establish successful food enterprises.

“This festival represents the true spirit of Happy FM’s commitment to community development and cultural preservation,” Bridget Mensah noted. “We are intentional about creating opportunities, building bridges between communities, and ensuring that our rich culinary traditions are passed on to future generations.”

The grand finale will feature live coverage on Happy 98.9FM, with updates and highlights shared across the station’s social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. Viewers can also catch extended coverage on Happy TV, ensuring that Ghanaians across the country can participate in the excitement.

As the countdown to the grand finale continues, anticipation builds across all participating communities. With just 2 days remaining, the competing Zongos are putting finishing touches on their preparations, ready to serve up an unforgettable celebration of food, culture, and community spirit.
