“Happy FM is our favourite station as we always call into their programmes due to their human interest content. We came together as a group, went to Pantang Hospital to ask what we could do to help them and they requested for a washroom. We then went to Happy FM and told them about our findings; within a few months, we had completed the project and today we are here to hand it over to the hospital as a contribution from Happy FM and its Listeners’ Association.’’

According to Mr. Sengo Kwadzo Eliajah, the Happy FM Listeners’ Association is vibrant is because of the leadership of Global Media Alliance Group (GMA) and their culture of inclusion which has provided the association a platform to be part of development of the Happy FM success story.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Alliance Group, Mr. Ernest Boateng thanked the Management of Pantang Hospital for giving Happy FM the opportunity to help the vulnerable in society as part of the core values of Happy FM.

‘’I have to thank Pantang Hospital for this opportunity to help them serve the vulnerable in society. Let me also thank the Happy FM Listeners’ Association for their continuous support to the station” he said.

“A hospital is a place of healing and therefore hygiene should be an integral part of that environment. We are here today through our collective efforts to Commission and hand over this ultra-modern washroom facility for the use by the Pantang hospital staff and patients. I am encouraging everyone to accept people living with mental health challenges; let’s not stigmatise anyone with one mental health condition or the other.” Mr. Boateng stated.

‘’On behalf of the leadership of Happy FM adopting Pantang Hospital, we will use the resources at our disposal to address some of the challenges of the Hospital to elevate it to a befitting health facility of its stature’’ he added.

The Deputy Director of Pantang Hospital Lena Anane Abebrese also thanked Happy FM for the initiative.

“I am grateful to Happy FM for assisting us with one of our urgent needs. I want to encourage the general public to visit the hospital for treatment because Pantang is not for only persons with mental health issues. We have a maternity clinic, dental clinic and a general Out Patient Department (OPD) that treat various diseases’’ she said.

The administrator of the hospital, Alex Kissi said “I can assure you that we will take good care of this edifice so as to encourage you to do more for us. I would like to thank the CEO of GMA and all his staff for adopting our hospital.’’
