Mercy Buabeng, popularly known in the media industry as Mercy Bee the Ekumfi Princess, has received a nomination at this year’s Ghana Media Personality Awards.

The nominations list for the 2022 Ghana Media Personality Awards was released recently and Mercy Bee has been shortlisted in the category of ‘Producer of the year’ with the shortcode G359.

Mercy Bee is the producer of Ghana’s favorite drive-time entertainment show, ‘Ayekoo After-Drive’ as well as the Saturday entertainment talk show, ‘Showbiz Xtra’ which both air on Happy FM. With her years of experience on the job, she has always been one of the driving forces behind the success of these shows and this nomination simply proves it.

The Ghana Media Personality Awards (GMPA) seeks to recognize, celebrate, and reward the contributions of personalities with exemplary vision in shaping the future of Ghana’s media landscape. GMPA is exclusively designed to bring together all personalities in the Radio and Television industry in Ghana, thereby creating the largest media platform for educating, entertaining and promotion of brands.

Mercy Bee, upon hearing the news of this great recognition, said, “It really makes me happy when organizers of award schemes remember to acknowledge the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure our favorite shows are always on point. I am elated to make the nominations list and my excitement will be even bigger when I win this award. Hence, I would like to urge everyone to vote for me because when I win this, it’s for us all”.

Programmes Manager of Happy98.9FM, Elwoode Mantey, adding to this, also said, “Mercy Bee carries out her work so effortlessly and it comes to me as no shock every time she receives another. We are so grateful that she has received this nomination but what would be even better is if she wins this award because she actually deserves it. Let’s put our hands together and vote as much as we can so she can bag this”.
