Happy FM’s Ohene Brenya to moderate GFA Presidential Debate

Newly elected Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Executive Committee Member and host of ‘Anopa Busou’ Breakfast sport show on Happy FM Ohene Brenya Bampoe will be one of the three Moderators at the Nomalization Committee led Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential Debate.

The other two moderators for the night will be Carl Tuffuor of GBC and Nana Aba Anamoah of GHOne Television, While Yaw Ampofo Ankrah host of ‘Sports World’ on YFM will coordinate events.

Five (5) out of the six (6) presidential candidates of the upcoming GFA elections confirmed their readiness to participate in a debate organized by the Normalisation Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association, in partnership with Ghana’s number one station Happy FM, and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).

The programme which is strictly by invitation will feature Amanda Clinton the only lady contender, Fred Pappoe a former Vice President of GFA, Kurt Edwin Okraku the Executive Chairman of ‘Dreams Fc’ Lawyer George Ankomah Mensah and Nana Yaw Amponsah who is the president of ‘Phar Rangers’ football club.

The GFA presidential debate will focus on the candidates’ various plans and policies priorities— particularly reforms, on key areas affecting the development of Ghana football.
Ohene Brenya Bampoe speaking about his new feat as a moderator for the first ever GFA Presidential debate said: ‘’I am humbled to be called upon as one of the moderators of the GFA debate. I will execute the mandate to the best of my ability, to ensure the success of the debate.’’

Programmes Manager of Happy FM, Mr. Emmanuel Akrumah expressed his excitement about the initiative.

‘’This is the first ever football related presidential debate in the world and I am proud that when Happy FM approached the NC with the concept, they bought into it and here we are ready to make history.
This is an opportunity for each participating candidate to present their ideas to delegates and the general public. I wish all the candidates well’’ he said.

The debate which is slated for Monday 21st of October 2019 at 6pm will be held at the College of Physicians and surgeons at Ridge in Accra.
