Father’s Day is a very significant day in Ghana, dedicated to all fathers will be celebrated this year by the country’s leading radio station, Happy 98.9FM.

A special campaign dubbed Papa Ye Hero started on Monday, June 3rd to Friday, June 14th, 2024, where listeners were asked to send a 30 seconds voice note of why they think their dads are heroes to a Whatsapp number provided.

Entries received were played on Happy98.9FM midday entertainment show, Anigye Mmere on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Each day, a winner chosen from the entries received instant airtime. The three finalists will compete on Happy FM on Father’s Day, June 16th, 2024, to determine the ultimate winner who will receive attractive prizes for their beloved fathers.

Head of Communication and Marketing, Bridget Mensah believes that Father’s Day is to honor incredible dads. Happy FM invites all listeners to participate in the on-air contest. “Fathers play an irreplaceable role in the lives of their children and in the fabric of our society. At Happy FM , we believe it is important to recognize and celebrate their efforts. This initiative is not only a tribute to fatherhood but also a way of bringing communities together to reflect on the values of love, strength, and support that fathers represent.” Miss Mensah said.
