A new poll conducted by research and data firm Global InfoAnalytics shows that the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, is currently the preferred candidate to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into the 2028 general elections.

The poll, which was shared on the organization’s official Facebook page, revealed that 27% of respondents favoured Haruna Iddrisu as the ideal leader for the party, narrowly placing him ahead of NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who garnered 26%.

Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, followed closely with 22% of voter preference. Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, secured 11% support, while North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, received 8%.

Daughter of late former President Jerry John Rawlings and MP for Klottey Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, polled 4%, with other unspecified candidates receiving 3% of support from respondents.

The results reflect a competitive race among the top NDC figures as the party begins to prepare for the next general elections.
