Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has cautioned the youth of Ghana to remain vigilant and avoid being exploited by politicians for political gains in the lead-up to, during, and after the December elections.

Speaking at a seminar jointly organized by the Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Mr. Iddrisu emphasized the importance of prioritizing education, hard work, respect, and love.

He urged the youth to be mindful of their role as the future leaders of the country and to refrain from being manipulated by politicians seeking to instigate conflict.

He reminded them that Ghana is their only home and that young people are often exploited during elections to perpetuate violence, emphasizing the need for vigilance to ensure a peaceful and stable democratic process.

Nana Professor Mensah Bonsu, representing Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, expressed concern on behalf of traditional leaders about the growing trend of young people straying from the path of responsible leadership and generational thinking, particularly during elections. He admonished the youth to be vigilant, learn valuable lessons from their leaders, and strive to lead exemplary lives, emphasizing the importance of upholding the values of leadership and wisdom passed down through generations.
