The Federation of Africa Medical Equipment, Disposables, and Devices Manufacturers and Suppliers (FOAMEDDMS) has established a forward-looking partnership through a memorandum of understanding with The Health Community of West Africa (HCOWA).

Founded in 2023, HCOWA aims to proactively develop a comprehensive and cooperative medical care industry in West Africa. It consists of healthcare experts and medical personnel from Ghana, Guinea, and Ivory Coast, collaborating to build the healthcare industry chain in Ghana.

Anthony K. Ameka, Chief Executive Officer of FOAMEDDMS, announced this significant milestone in a speech delivered on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the FOAMEDDMS Secretariat in Accra. He highlighted the agreement’s potential to enhance medical advancements and investment opportunities across the West African region. “Good morning and warm greetings from the President, the Board, and all members of the Federation! Today marks a momentous occasion as we gather here to witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Health Community of West Africa (HCOWA) and FOAMEDDMS. This collaboration represents a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance medical advancements and investment opportunities across the region.”

He noted the pivotal role of HCOWA as leaders of change in the healthcare fraternity of West Africa, which makes the partnership strategic.

The joint partnership will bring forth the inaugural edition of the West Africa Medical Industry and Investment Summit and Expo. He encouraged all attendees of the signing to be present on August 26, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre for the two-day event which will climax on August, 28 2024. “Let us seize this opportunity to expand our networks, share best practices, and explore potential avenues for collaboration and growth. Together, we can make a significant impact on the healthcare landscape in West Africa.” he said.

Mr. Ameka expressed his excitement to work with HCOWA, emphasizing the collaboration’s potential to champion progress and excellence in the West African medical industry. “In conclusion, today’s signing of the MoU between HCOWA and FOAMEDDMS is not merely a symbolic gesture but a testament to our shared vision of championing progress and excellence in the West African medical industry. Let us embrace this collaboration wholeheartedly and work tirelessly towards achieving our collective goals.”
