Hearts of Oak defender Nuru Sulley frustrated due to lack of playing time, wants contract terminated

Hearts of Oak defender, Nuru Sulley, has bemoaned over the recent callous treatment he has received from the club over the last couple of months.

Nuru Sulley who currently makes the latest headlines amidst his controversial relationship with Hearts of Oak has pleaded for the club to release him.

The defender rejoined the Phobians before the start of the 2020-2021 campaign from Iraqi’s Naft Al-Basra SC. He made 16 appearances and contributed to the club’s domestic double win.

Since then, Sulley has fallen out with Coach Boadu and the club while he has barely made an appearance for the Accra-based club in the ongoing campaign.

During an interview with Happy98.9FM’s Ohene Bampoe on Happy Sports, he cried, “The fun and excitement is no longer there, it’s very hurtful but like they say, not everything I can tell you. It’s very painful I find myself in such a situation. I could wake up at dawn and cry a lot, it really worries me. I came back here to play regular football and a player of my caliber is denied the opportunity to be on the field and express my talent and technical gift.

I’ve thought a lot about it and I can’t find the brain behind this unwarranted treatment which seems like a plan to end my career. It’s been almost eight months and I’ve never played football for the club I’ve always loved. However, I give my all during training sessions. What then is my use in the team if I can’t be playing football matches. I always ask myself whether they would’ve given the same treatment to me if I should’ve been their fellow brother. The best thing is for the club to release me and for me to find a club who needs my talents. All these drama and conflicts is not needed.”

Nevertheless, recent reports indicates the defender could be on his way again to the Iraqi top-flight to join Erbil Sports Club on a season long loan with an option to make the move a permanent at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
