A heavy rainstorm that swept across parts of the Greater Accra Region on Wednesday evening has caused widespread power outages, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced.

In a statement issued by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the Company explained that the outages are the result of faults triggered by the storm, which disrupted power supply in several communities.

The company assured customers that its engineers are working “assiduously” to restore electricity as quickly as possible.

“ECG wishes to assure all affected customers that our Engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore power supply,” the statement read.

Residents experiencing localized outages have been urged to reach out to ECG for prompt intervention. Customers can call the contact center on 0302 611 611, visit the nearest ECG office, lodge complaints through the ECG PowerApp, or contact ECG on social media platforms including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram via @ECGOfficial.

ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and appealed for patience as repair works continue.
