Communication Team Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Kwame Appenteng, has disclosed that to make Accra the cleanest city, we need someone with strong leadership will and quality.

According to him, the Greater Accra Regional Minister Honorable Henry Quartey is the right person for the job. He explained that with the President’s ‘Operation Clean Your Frontage’ Initiative Accra will become the cleanest city in Africa and beyond.

He says this initiative is one that he hopes every Ghanaian will embrace and partake in it. He believes that, Ghana can be as clean as the European countries.

In his opinion, Hon. Henry Quartey has displayed great leadership qualities and he believes he (Henry Quartey) will be able to see this project through. “Anyone who faults will be dealt with by the law,” he stated.

In a panel discussion with Don Kwabena Prah on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, Nana Kwame Appenteng said with regards to relocating the onion sellers at ‘agbogbloshie’, it took a lot of efforts to get it and indeed the Regional Minister stood his grounds. He believes that with that alone this ‘Operation Clean Your Frontage’ initiative will be a success.

The Government launched the ‘Operation Clean Your Frontage’ for the Greater Accra Region. It’s expected to deploy 3,500 people to implement sanitation bye-laws.

The policy by the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council seeks to make it obligatory for all entities to be responsible for the cleaning and greening of their immediate surroundings.
