Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Premier League side Ashanti Gold SC, Frederick Acheampong -known in the sports fraternity as Fred Achee- is pleading with the sixteen Ghana Premier League clubs to give him the nod to represent them in the next Ghana Football Association administration on the executive council.

The Premier League clubs have five slots on the ExCo but will be vied for by seven candidates which include Ashgold’s CEO, Frederick Acheampong (Achee), George Amoako, CEO of Asante Kotoko, Kingsley Osei Bonsu (Lord Zico) of Bechem United, Nana Oduro Sarfo, Dr Tony Aubyn of Medeama SC, Hearts of Oak’s Frederick Moore and Albert Commey of Aduana FC.

Speaking to Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy FM’s ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports’,Acheampong announced his readiness to serve Ghana football.

“I think I have a service to render. I have something that I can offer Ghana football to move forward. I am ready to be involved and offer my ideas and knowledge to move our game forward.”

“I have a good chance of making it on the council. I get my confidence from the people who advised me to go for this position and promised to vote for me . I have people supporting me. Nevertheless, I won’t underestimate my opponents because they are all fine brains with brilliant ideas that can help our game.”

Acheampong, a former journalist, was appointed as the CEO of Ashanti Gold last when the current Executive Chairman, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong became the owner of the club.

Acheampong,has garnered massive experience as a General Coordinator for the CAF competitions. He has helped organize several CAF inter-clubs competitions like TP Mazembe vrs Ismaily, Gor Mahia vrs RS Berkane (Confederation CUp quarter final final), Enyimba vrs Raja Casablanca (Confederation Cup semi final) just to mention a few.

He has also helped in the organization of big competitions on the continent such as;WAFU,AWCON,CAF Champions league,CAF confederation cup and AFCON which he was made the match coordinator for the final game between Senegal and Morocco.
