The Attorney General and Minister for Justice Dr. Dominic Ayine has confirmed that the arrest of Former Board Chairman of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi was carried out under his authorisation.
According to him, Ameyaw-Akumfi needed to make things clear through interrogation concerning the payments of two million dollars for work that was never carried out.
Dr. Dominic Ayine emphasized that investigations are still ongoing to unravel the circumstances under which the payment was done.
Prof. Ameyaw Akumfi was picked up in his home by officers of NIB on Sunday morning, February 23, 2025 over his alleged involvement in the sky train scandal.
