President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that former president John Dramani’s statement that he lied his way into power is not true.

According to him, his statement about dumsor and the sluggish growth of the Ghanaian economy before the 2016 Presidential elections was not a lie but complete facts.

Akufo-Addo said he didn’t create dumsor and was not the person in charge of the economy at the time and cannot be blamed for letting Ghanaians see the truth about the National Democratic Congress’ government.

“He is now saying I lied to Ghanaians to come to power in 2016, what are the lies he is talking about? Was dumsor a lie that I told Ghanaians? Or the sluggish growth of the economy was also a lie?

Akufo-Addo added that if the former president is looking for a way to absorb himself of the performance of his government, he should find something else to say.

“If he is trying to find a way to excuse himself of his abysmal failures, he should find another way and leave me out of it,” Akufo-Addo said at a campaign rally in Kumasi, Bantama.
