Prof. Joshua Alabi, a Russian trained economist and chartered marketer, has said big shots in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) support his bid to lead the party for the 2020 general elections.

Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ political show, he said ‘’Numerous stalwarts of the NDC are solidly behind me. They help me financially on campaign tour and we have close to 9 cars in our entourage -all that comes from their support.’’

Responding to the 94 Members of Parliament (MP) who endorsed Former President Mahama’s candidature, he said “those 94 MPs are our representatives and they only have 94 votes that is a drop in the ocean compared to the 300,000 votes of the delegates.’’

His admirers believe his trump card in this election is what he did with UPSA; the transformation he is credited with at the University. He is renowned for his innovative leadership that transformed the school into a respected institution of learning with great infrastructure to boast.

However, he has a rather long and rich political CV which many believe is rusty and have lost some of its luster. But his supporters on the other hand, insist he has kept touch with the party’s grassroots and their work is cut out for them. They however have to convince the delegates that the good professor, more than the other ten men, best represents the NDC’s chances of returning to power.
