Ghana’s game against South Africa in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Cape Coast Stadium was halted for some brief hilarious moment when a pitch invader came onto the pitch.
The pitch invader who has been identified as Awal Sulemana revealed that he wanted a selfie with Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey.
Awal Sulemana entered the pitch on the 74th minute and outrun some security officials before he was apprehended.
Information gathered by Happy FM indicates that the pitch invader spent the night at the Cape Coast Stadium Police cells.
According to the stadium announcer for the match, the pitch invader is a nurse who is awaiting postings and a resident of Kotokoraba, a suburb of Cape Coast.
“I heard they (Black Stars) will be stopping at Mankessim, but I knew the only opportunity I had to take a picture with Thomas Partey was on the field, that is why I rushed there”, he said.
Sulemana has been charged with unlawful entry and offensive character after appearing in court today.
