Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo, former Executive Secretary to former Inspector-General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu says the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wa West constituency, Joseph Yieleh Chireh, is yet to congratulate him on his victory in the just ended primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The retired senior police officer polled 755 as against 317 garnered by veteran politician and former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Yieleh Chireh to represent the NDC in 2020.
Speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah, Tuubo opined that if Yieleh Chire doesn’t congratulate him, he [Tuubo] will go to his residence to greet him. “Lots of people have called to congratulate me but I have not received any congratulatory call from Joseph Yieleh Chire yet.”
He added “If he doesn’t call to congratulate, I will go to his residence to greet him. There is no problem between us; we’re cool.”
Tuubo retired voluntarily from the Police Service in May this year to contest as a parliamentary candidate of the NDC in the Wa West.
He was among 46 people who picked up nomination forms to contest in the parliamentary primaries in all the eleven constituencies of the Upper West region.
Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo is fondly remembered for his infamous presentation on corruption within the police service and how the public perceives personnel of the service which went viral on various social media platforms.
