IGP appeals to leaders of various political parties for peace during elections

IGP appeals to leaders of various political parties for peace during elections

Chairman of the National Elections Security Taskforce, IGP Dr. George Akuffo- Dampare has appealed to leaders of the various Political parties to collaborate with them to ensure peace, law and order during the Saturday December 7 elections.

Speaking during a meeting with the leadership of the various political parties, IGP Dampare called on the leadership of the various political parties to maintain their composure till the elections is over.

‘’You have demonstrated your love for our country and commitment to ensure that there is peace, security, law and order during this election period and beyond, we commend you and your leadership for how far you have comported yourself since this whole election process began’’.

According to him, the National Elections Security Taskforce is committed to ensure patriotism towards the nation, hence their constant call on them for discussion on the roadmap for this election.

‘’Our plea is for us to finish well for the benefit of this country. It is in the same spirit that we are also committed to show our patriotism towards our dear nation by committing ourselves to ensure that this elections becomes peaceful that is why we are worrying you with our consistent call upon you for this discussion’’.

IGP Dampare mentioned that, the meeting is necessary because they want to be transparent and take away any issue of misinformation and disinformation to the public.

‘’Today it is a way of demonstrating to you of our commitment to ensuring that we are impartial, firm, transparent and professional during the elections.We are transparent and we engage, it takes away the issue of misinformation and disinformation’’.
