Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah has ruled out a U-turn regarding his planned exit from the Old Lady, adding that his new club will likely be announced ‘soon’.
The Ghana international is set to end his six-year stay with Massimiliano Allegri’s outfit when his contract runs out next month, having rejected an offer for extension.
A host of clubs, including AC Milan, AS Roma, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, have expressed interest in his services, but Inter Milan are said to be leading the race.
“Football rumour is something that happens all the time, as a player, teams will approach you, try to make moves but we’re still on it,” Asamoah told Citi FM on the sidelines of the 3rd edition of the Calcio Trade Ball in Accra on Sunday.
“I’m not staying at Juventus because I’ve already made a statement and [said my] goodbye.
“Probably, the team that I will be joining will be announced very soon.
“[I spent] six good years with Juventus – each came with great achievement [and] trophies.
“I’m so happy; not every player would have that opportunity to win trophies every year.
“I’m grateful to be part of everything that we did with this great club.”
Six Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia and three Super Cup make up Asamoah’s trophy haul at Juve.
Having been reduced to a squad player over the years, reports say the 29-year-old has set his sights on a move away in his search of regular action.
Last term, unarguably his best since 2014, he made 19 Serie A appearances, including 18 starts. He also featured three times in the Champions League.
Last summer, Asamoah came close to sealing a move to Galatasaray, but the transfer fell through as Juve failed to find a replacement.
