The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has renewed the curfew on Binduri Township and nearby communities in the Upper East Region.
The curfew, effective Monday, September 8, 2025, will run daily from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., following recommendations from the National Security Council and formalized through an Executive Instrument.
In a statement, the Ministry urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth to remain calm and adopt peaceful, non-violent means in resolving issues in the area.
The Ministry also reminded residents that the ban on carrying arms, ammunition, offensive weapons, and the operation of motorbikes remains in place. Additionally, the wearing of smocks within Binduri and its environs has been prohibited.
It cautioned that anyone who disregards these directives will be arrested and prosecuted.
