The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, has announced the renewal of curfew hours for Sampa Township in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, citing ongoing chieftaincy disputes as the reason for the extension.
The curfew will be in effect daily from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
The decision follows a recommendation from the Bono Regional Security Council and is enforced through an Executive Instrument.
The government is calling on chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth, and residents of the area to remain calm and to resolve issues through peaceful and lawful means.
Additionally, a total ban remains in place on the possession of arms, ammunition, and any offensive weapons within the township.
This curfew renewal highlights the government’s continued commitment to preserving peace and security in Sampa and its surrounding areas.
