Interpol has officially listed Ghana’s former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, on its Red Notice database, marking a significant development in the corruption investigations led by Ghana’s Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The OSP reissued the notice after Ofori-Atta failed to appear for interrogation on June 2.
He is wanted for “Using Public Office for Profit,” with allegations tied to multiple high-profile cases, including procurement dealings for Ghana’s National Cathedral and ambulance acquisition.
Authorities believe he is currently in the United States receiving medical treatment, and international cooperation is being sought to locate and detain him for potential extradition.
This is the second time Ofori-Atta has been declared a fugitive by Ghanaian authorities, intensifying scrutiny on his tenure as Finance Minister.
