Isshak Abdullai

Isshak Abdullai is a Ghanaian social media and digital media marketing strategist. He gained attention for helping multiple award winning songstress Wiyaala gain international recognition. He was employed as Wiyaala’s PR right after she broke away from her group Black N Peach after winning Vodafone Icons in 2011.
He planned and run the PR for her debut solo single Rock My Body which featured Dancehall star Jupitar and the campaign was so successful she was nominated for two awards in 2013 and eleven awards in 2014 and she won seven awards including Most Promising Artiste in Africa at the maiden edition of All Africa Awards in 2013 in Nigeria. He is currently her official PR in Ghana.
Isshak grew up in a Accra family. He attended Ayalolo L/A Primary, Mey Linsy Primary, New Nation School, Sal Valley School in Accra.
Isshak began his media career in after senior high school, he interned at Flex Newspaper right after an intensive media training course at Tommy Annan Forson’s RABODEF.
After graduating from high school, Isshak then moved to Absolute Damage Control to create content for their news portal enewsgh.com before joining YFM to start their website. He got the opportunity to do digital work for Buk Bak and designed the groups official logo.
Isshak in 2008 founded his own digital media company OneStoryOnly – a marketing agency focused on digital strategy in the arts industry.
In 2015 Isshak joined Obrafour’s Execution Entertainment as digital and PR strategist and later assumed the role of manager at the label.
Isshak was nominated for Best Online Journalist at People’s Choice Awards in Nigeria in 2009.
Isshak covers the arts, business and culture of music and technology. His personal and research-driven essays and short notes explore music, technology and social media.
He manages YFMGhana.com, the website of Ghana’s number one music radio station with a total of 1.2 million followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
He has been influencer for Motorola,Nokia and many other technology brands that seek to reach the youth he has access to through his work on YFM.
He started blogging six years ago because because he felt he had something different to add to the conversation and Ghana’s youth culture. Since then, his ideas have been featured in several outlets around the world wide web.
He started as newspaper reporter and jumped into online journalism after two years. He leads the PR and marketing at Djimba World Records which houses award winning artist Wiyaala where he built trust and enthusiasm for an unknown brand, and helped her win her first award at All Africa Music Awards in Nigeria in 2014. He currently manage Obrafour’s digital brand ahead of his 20 years anniversary.
For a person with such a soft voice, He is unusually opinionated.
