It will be difficult for Ghana to win 2021 AFCON- Michael Osei

Former Black Meteors assistant coach, Michael Osei, says it will be difficult for Ghana to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which will be staged in Cameroon.

Michael Osei made this assertion when asked whether Black Stars Coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor can guide the team to the trophy.

According to the Star Madrid coach, it’s a very bold decision from Coach Akonnor to target winning the AFCON title next year.

Michael Osei believes the Black Stars team is not ready to achieve that fate.

“It will be very difficult to win the AFCON title next year”, he told Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Wamputu Sports on Happy 98.9FM.

“There are some countries who are ahead of us and their players are playing consistently for their clubs.

“For him to win we all have to support him, the playing body and the technical team to make this possible, he added.

The AFCON title has eluded the Black Stars since 1982 when they last won it in Libya.

The Black Stars have come close to winning the title in 2010 and 2015.
