Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, has announced on his Facebook page Today 11th September, 2024 that, the Jamestown Fishing Harbour would be commissioned on Friday, September 13, 2024.
The project which forms part of government’s infrastructural development for the fishing industry would include a cold storage unit, processing facilities, a net mending bay, and administrative offices.
The harbour when commissioned would provide support to fishermen and fishmongers in the area by providing them with better tools for preserving and processing their catch, and enhance productivity.
