Former President John Mahama has made a significant donation to the Ghana amputee national football team, known as the Black Challenge, in recognition of their outstanding achievement in winning the Amputee Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the second consecutive time.

The team presented their trophy to Mahama at his residence after their victory in Egypt, where they defeated Morocco 2-1 in the final held in Cairo.

Mahama appreciated the team’s efforts and emphasized the importance of investing in teams like the amputee national team to ensure they continue to make Ghana proud. He also donated $10,000 to the team, assuring them of continued support if he is elected as President of the country.

“We must not only focus on just the senior national team (Black Stars)… we should also invest in teams like yours so that you can continue to make Ghana proud,” Mahama said.

Mahama also expressed his support for the team, stating that he would continue to take interest in their activities.

As the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, he assured the team that if he becomes President, he will provide the necessary assistance to help them retain their trophy and win more accolades for Ghana.
