A Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team and Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, Philip Gyimah, has refuted claims that the majority of youth organizers in NPP support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, insisting instead that most of them are behind Kennedy Agyapong.

Speaking on Happy 98.9 FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with Bismark Brown (BB), Mr. Gyimah who also serves as a youth organizer in the Greater Accra Region, revealed that 18 youth organizers, 15 deputies, and several coordinators in the region have already declared their support for the former Assin Central MP.

He explained that Kennedy Agyapong possesses the message to inspire the party’s base, while Dr. Bawumia relies on a network built through the system used in the last elections.

He said the Bawumia camp assumes that former MPs who supported him in the past still do so, but many of them have now shifted their allegiance to Kennedy Agyapong.

Mr. Gyimah also disputed the claim that 490 youth organizers picked nomination forms for Dr. Bawumia on Wednesday, August 13.

He alleged that fewer than 15 youth organizers were present, with the rest being TESCON members, and argued that the Bawumia camp was deliberately creating the false impression that all present were youth organizers.

He further asserted that the majority of NPP youth are eager to see Kennedy Agyapong lead the party, confident he can secure victory for the NPP in the 2028 general elections.
