Key suspect in Ablekuma bullion van robbery allegedly arrested in Togo

The key suspect in the Ablekuma Fan Milk bullion van Robbery has been allegedly apprehended in Togo.

Approximately at 7:00 am on Saturday, July 15, 2023, the Aflao District Police Command received information that one of the suspects in the Ablekuma bullion van robbery had been seen in Lome, Togo’s Asigame market.

Based on the information the District Crime Officer DSP Eric Vondee led Inspector Gabriel Damadzi, Martin Afari Koranteng and Corporal Issah Ayamba and proceeded to Asigame market Lome Togo and with the assistance of Togo Interpol, arrested suspect Blessing Njoma a Nigerian.

The suspect was searched at the spot but nothing incriminating was found on him.

The suspect was taken to Togo Interpol Headquarters and when his body was searched old bullet scars were found on the right shoulder.

Police is making efforts to search his place of abode before bringing him to Ghana.

According to him, he was shot in Nigeria in 2014 in a fight.

Meanwhile , Callistus Amoah, the policeman killed during the robbery was buried on Saturday.

He was promoted posthumously by the Police Administration.

His promotion from Lance Corporal to General Corporal took effect from June 22, 2023.
