A private businessman and spare parts Dealer, Mr. Emmanuel Bright Obeng Nyarko, popularly known as Great Kofata has made a donation of GHc 100,000.00 to the COVID-19 Fund.

Mr Obeng Nyarko who is also the Managing Director of KOFATA MOTORS at Abossey Okai made this donation through a Representative, during the Ministry of Information’s Press briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic in Accra on Sunday.

In his broadcast to the nation on Friday night, President Akufo-Addo, among other measures, announced the establishment of a COVID-19 Fund to raise money to mitigate the impact of the virus on Ghanaians who have been affected.

The President also revealed he had instructed the Controller and Accountant General to pay his next three months’ salary to support the Fund.

Vice President Bawumia has also confirmed his next three months’ salary will be paid to the COVID-19 Fund.

Obeng Nyarko has also followed the exemplary gesture of President Akufo-Addo to support the fight against Coronavirus pandemic.

The Fund which will be managed by an independent board of trustees, and chaired by the former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo will receive contributions and donations from the public to assist in the welfare of the needy and vulnerable as the country fights to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
