Korle Bu dismisses reports of emergency surgery suspension

The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), has refuted claims that it has suspended emergency surgeries.

In a press statement, issued on 29th August 2024, the management categorically dismissed reports suggesting the suspension of emergency surgeries in the hospital.

The hospital addressed concernd raised by the recent rumors and confirmed that emergency surgeries continue to be conducted without interruption.

“The attention of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has been drawn to a false and fabricated story in sections of the media that we have suspended emergency surgeries”.

“This is untrue because despite ongoing repair work on elevators at the Department of Surgery, all surgical emergency and urgent cares are being attended to promptly” parts of the statement read.

The hospital urged patients and the public to disregard the misleading information being spread by some media houses and social media.
